A Defence spokesman here said that at about 1015 hrs, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing small arms and shelling with mortars along LoC in Nowshera sector.
"Indian Army is retaliating befittingly," he said.
The spokesman said that on the intervening night of December 21-22, there was ceasefire violation at many places in Mendhar, Krishna Ghati and Poonch which was retaliated befittingly.
On Saturday, Pakistan violated the ceasefire and heavily shelled forward areas along the Line of Control in Sunderbani sector of Jammu and Kashmir.(UNI)
