PM Modi remembers freedom fighters, lauds Corona warriors, Olympic team

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday remembered the heroes of freedom struggle and paid tributes to them.
Addressing the nation on the 75th Independence Day from the ramparts of the Red Fort, he also lauded the Corona warriors, and India's Olympic team.
The Prime Minister urged all to clap and honour the players, the corona warriors and the youth of India.
Greeting the people on the occasion, he said, "Nation remembers all freedom freighters. Those who made freedom a people's movement, whether it is Bapu, Netaji, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekar Azad, Bismil or Ashfakullah Khan..."
"Whether it was Rani Lakshmibai or Chennamma, or Matangini Hajra. India's first Prime Minister Nehru, Sardar Patel who united the nation... We remember everyone. Nation is indebted to them," Modi said.
He also lauded India's Olympics team and corona warriors, who were present there.
He said in this pandemic doctors, healthcare workers, scientists who made vaccines, and citizens who served others in corona times, "all deserve to be lauded". (UNI)
