Police arrested a dozen accused in factional clashes in Bengal

Bolpur: West Bengal Police have arrested 12 people, allegedly involved in factional fights of the ruling TMC in which some people were wounded when crude bombs were used, even as police unearthed some 40 live country-made bombs from different places at Saithia in West Bengal's Birbhum district, official sources said on Tuesday.

Police swung into action after bloody fighting occurred between the two factions of TMC at Raharapur village under Sainthia block on Monday in which two persons were wounded, one of them lost a leg after crude bombs were used between the rivals. the injured had been admitted to a local hospital.

Police so far arrested some 12 accused in this connection and called the bomb squad, which unearthed some 40 live crude bombs since Monday.The explosives were being defused by the bomb squad, which also recovered some of the bombs from houses.Official sources said the police after setting up a picket, began marching the village to restore normality.(UNI)
