President Kovind reaches Ayodhya on maiden visit

Ayodhya: President Ram Nath Kovind arrived at the Ayodhya Railway station here on Sunday on his maiden visit to the temple city.



 
President was welcomed at the railway station by Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Ayodhya Mayor, and members of the Ramjanambhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust members along with others.

The Presidential train which departed from Lucknow at around 0940 hrs reached Ayodhya station at around 1125 hours covering 134 kms.

CM Yogi Adityanath reached Ayodhya at around 1000 hrs from Gorakhpur directly.

From Ayodhya station, the President left for Ramkatha Park.

The entire route between Ayodhya station to Ramkatha Park, of about 3.3 kilometers, has been decked up with several flower gates.

Ram Nath Kovind will be the second President to visit Ayodhya after 38 years. Gyani Jail Singh was the first to visit Ayodhya. (UNI)
