Prez, VP, PM greet people on occasion of Maha Shivaratri

New Delhi:President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted people on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. In a tweet, the President said, ''Greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens on Maha Shivaratri. May the blessings of Lord Shiva bring peace, happiness and prosperity to everyone's life.''
''On the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri  I convey my greetings to devotees all over the world.As we light up our homes and temples on this auspicious night, let us pray to Lord Shiva to bestow upon us the wisdom and courage to fight many evils within ourselves and outside,'' the Vice-President said in a tweet.
 
''May he bless us with the energy to do good deeds. Let us pray that our lives are continuously lit with good cheer, good health, good thoughts and  good actions,'' Mr Naidu added.
 
The Prime Minister greeted all citizens on Maha Shivaratri. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, '' The blessings of Baba Bholenath(Lord Shiva) bring happiness, peace, prosperity and good fortune in the lives of all the countrymen.''
 
Rahul Gandhi greets people on occasion of Maha Shivaratri
 
New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday greeted people on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri.''Greetings to all people of the country on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri,'' Mr Gandhi said in a tweet.

Large number of devotees across the country celebrate the Maha Shivaratri festival by fasting and offering special prayers to Lord Shiva.Temples across the country witnessed long lines of devotees since early morning to offer prayers, flowers and fruits.(UNI)
