Pune: A man who allegedly raped a 26- years old woman inside government run state transport bus in the Swargate areas was arrested by crime branch Pune police on Friday.
The accused identified Dattatray Gade was arrested from sugarcane field in Gunat village in Shirur at midnight and brought to Pune.
The accused has past a criminal record underwent a medical examination at Sassoon Hospital in the morning and will be produced in the Shivajinagar court later in a day today for police remand, police said.
The incident of rape was taken place at morning of February 26 at Swargate Bus Depot when victim was waiting for bus to return to her home town Phaltan.
