Signatories of letter faces chin music in reshuffle of CWC

New Delhi:Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday carried out a major reshuffle in the party, removing senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad--part of the group of leaders who wrote to the party chief for an overhaul in the organisation--from his post of general secretary, while media incharge Randeep Surjewala was made AICC General secretary for Karnataka and included in the six-member committee that will  advise Ms Gandhi in operational matters.
  
Ghulam Nabi Azad, who was AICC in charge of Haryana, has been replaced by Vivek Bansal. Apart from Azad, Ambika Soni, Motilal Vora and Mallikarjun Kharge have also been removed from their posts of AICC general secretaries. However, Ambika Soni has been included in the special committee formed to assist Sonia Gandhi in organisational matters.
 
The Congress president also reconstituted the Congress working committee and the Central election committee.
 
Jitin Prasad , another signatory to the letter to the Congress chief, however, received a promotion, and was appointed as the in-charge for West Bengal, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
 
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will continue to be in charge of Uttar Pradesh, while Rahul Gandhi loyalist Manickam Tagore will be the new secretary in-charge for Telangana.
 
Pawan Kumar Bansal will be the secretary in charge administration, Harish Rawat will be AICC general secretary in-charge Punjab, Tariq Anwar to be in-charge for Kerala and Lakshadweep, Jitendra Singh in-charge Assam, and Oommen Chandy will be in-charge for Andhra Pradesh.
 
The biggest gainer from the reshuffle is , however,  media incharge  Randeep Surjewala, who has been inducted in the high-power six-member panel that will advise  the Congress president in operational matters.He was also appointed AICC General secretary incharge for Karnataka. (UNI)
