New Delhi:The Centre on Friday told the Supreme Court that it has agreed to allot a site at the spot for reconstruction of the Ravidas temple at Tughlaqabad area. Attorney-General K K Venugopal told the bench, headed by Justice Arun Mishra, about the development.
He informed the apex court that in order to maintain peace & harmony, a plot of land has been allotted there to reconstruct the Sant Ravidas temple, which was demolished after it came under the unauthorised construction site.
The Supreme Court is expected to pass orders likely on October 21, Monday. Petitioners had approached the apex court seeking a direction that the worshippers should be allowed to perform puja and the temple should be reconstructed. (UNI)
