W. Bengal Madarsa committee moves SC for recent verdict on appointment

New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear next week a plea of an association seeking stay of its verdict that Government can frame regulations for appointment of teachers in minority institutions.Chief Justice of India S A Bobde headed the bench.
Association of Madrasas of Bengal today mentioned the matter before the top court.The body sought a stay of the verdict of the Supreme Court that government can frame regulations for appointment of teachers in minority institutions."We will hear the petition next week," ruled the bench.
 
The Madrasas contended that the judgement delivered on Monday by a division bench is contrary to a three-judge verdict of the top court that minority institutions have the right to decide on appointment of teachers. That right, the Madarsas contended, cannot be taken away by Government.(UNI)
