SC orders Madhya Pradesh floor test on Friday

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that the session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly which has been deferred to 26 March 2020 shall be reconvened tomorrow for a floor test of the Kamal Nath government which is said to have lost its majority in the 230-member Assembly after the rebellion of Gwalior royal Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The meeting shall be confined to a single agenda, namely, whether the government of the incumbent Chief Minister continues to enjoy the confidence of the House, ruled a bench, headed by Justice Dr D Y Chandrachud. 
 
Voting on agenda shall take place by show of hands (the Governor having clarified by his letter dated15 March 2020 that there is no provision for recording the division by 'press of button'), Apex Court said. The rebels will be given security if they are willing to participate in the floor test, However, it will be on their discretion to attend the assembly session, stated apex court.(UNI)
