Search operation in Dera Sacha Sauda HQ in Sirsa underway

Sirsa: Security forces entered Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters this morning ans started search and sanitation operations. Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh said 41 companies of paramilitary forces and four columns of the Army have been deployed. He said the entire Dera premises is to be divided into five sectors for the purpose of searches, each under control of an SP rank officer. The operation will continue uninterrupted till the search is complete.
 

The search is being monitored by Court Commissioner AKS Pawar, appointed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. All roads leading to the Dera have been sealed. Mediapersons were stopped at Shah Satnam Singh Chowk. Search team have also not been allowed to carry their mobile phones inside. It may be recalled that Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was recently convicted in a rape case and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. In the aftermath violence, 40 people died and hundred were injured in Haryana and Punjab. (UNI)
