Mumbai: The equity market kept its supremacy for the third straight session on Wednesday, as the BSE Sensex ended an all-time high at 50,255.75, advancing 458.03 pts on the back of growth-driven Budget and positive global cues.
The Nifty too gained by 142.10 pts to 14,789.95.
The Sensex opened higher at 50,231.06, up 434 pts. During the day, it jumped to 50,526.39, up by 729 pts, days high before closing at 50,255.75, spurting by 458.03 pts from its previous close.
The Sensex registered days high and low at 50,526.39 and 49,515.88 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 14,868.85 and 14,515.88 pts.
The sectoral indices that boosted the market were Utilises, Health Care, Powergrid and Telecom stocks.
In scrips, IndusInd Bank a major gainer ended at Rs 1049.55, up by 7.65 pc followed by Powergrid, Dr Reddy, Sun Pharma and NTPC.
The Mid Cap went up by 1.38 pc and Small Cap by 1.47 pc.
