Swapna Suresh charges 3 CPI(M) leaders over Sexual misconduct

Kochi: Suspect in the diplomatic baggage gold smuggling case Swapna Suresh on Friday raised allegations against three senior CPI(M) leaders over their sexual misconduct.
In an exclusive interview with a news channel, she levelled allegations against former minister Kadakampally Surendran, former Assembly Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan and former finance minister Dr Thomas Isaac.
The incidents happened when she was the executive secretary to the UAE Consul General in Thiruvananthapuram. All the three CPI(M) top leaders were part of the previous Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left Government in Kerala.
In August last, she moved the Kerala High Court seeking to quash the FIR charged against her in a conspiracy case filed by former Kerala minister KT Jaleel.
The case was filed against her after she had given her '164 statement' before the Magistrate in the gold smuggling case which is under probe by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
She alleged that several people including KT Jaleel, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his wife and their daughter, are involved in the smuggling case.
Earlier, she alleged that the Kerala Crime Branch has threatened to implicate her in 770 riot cases. She also alleged that she was harassed by the Crime Branch who called for interrogating her in the conspiracy case.
"The Crime Branch was harassing me instead of interrogating the conspiracy case framed against me. Let them to probe the conspiracy. But, they were asking me where I kept all duplicate documents related to the business transactions of the company owned by Chief Minister's daughter Veena Vijayan."
There were asking about the evidence in connection with her '164 statement' before the Magistrate in the gold smuggling case which is under probe by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), she added.
Stating that the Crime Branch also insisted her to terminate her lawyer R. Krishna Raj, she alleged that she was terminated from her job in the HRDS-India which was under pressure from various Government departments."The Crime Branch was not questioning me, they were just harassing me. They threatened to implicate me in 770 riot cases," she added.(UNI)
