TRAGIC! 5 members of family die due to asphyxia from angithi smoke in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha

Amroha (UP): Five persons, including four teenagers, died due to asphyxia and two others were taken ill in Said Nagali area of Amroha district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Tuesday.

They had burnt an angithi inside the house which could have led to the accident, police sources said. "Prima facie the cause of death could be due to lack of oxygen because these people had burnt an angithi in their room," they said.
Police sources said that the incident took place in the house of Raeesuddin in Alipur Bhud village.

"When the door of Raeesuddin's house did not open till late on Tuesday afternoon the neighbours got suspicious and entered the premises by scaling the wall," they said.
 
Police sources said that seven persons were found in an unconscious state and were taken to the hospital.

"During examination Raeesuddin's daughter Sonam (19), sons Zaid (15), Maahir (12), daughter of his brother-in-law Mahak and Waris (17) were declared dead," they said.
 
Police sources said that Raeesuddin's wife Hussain Jahan and brother-in-law Riyasat were admitted to the hospital in a serious condition.
