UP: Badaun youth writes “I Love You, Jeet Mubarak” after Pakistan win over India in T20 WC, booked under NSA, sent to jail

Badaun: After Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the lodging of cases under National Security Act (NSA) against people who celebrated Pakistan's win against India in the T20 world cup on Sunday last, a youth in Badaun has been book under NSA, police said on Thursday.
The youth had put the flag of Pakistan on his Facebook account leading to outrage from the people and taking cognizance of this, Hindu Jagran Manch filed a complaint against the youth at Faizganj police station on Tuesday.
The police registered a case of sedition and arrested the youth and sent him to jail, police said here on Thursday.
According to the police, Niaz, a resident of Faizganj Behta in Badaun, celebrated after Pakistan defeated India in the T20 World Cup. Not only this, he put the flag of Pakistan on his cover page of FB and started posting objectionable posts.
When his post went viral, there was outrage among the people. Taking cognizance of the matter, Puneet Shakya of Hindu Jagran Manch filed a complaint against Niaz in the police station.
Senior Superintendent of Police Badaun, Dr O P Singh said that Niaz posted the Pakistan flag on his Facebook wall and started posting, "I love you Pakistan, I Miss you Pakistan, Jeet Mubarak Pakistan".
On October 26, a case was registered against Niaz under the sedition and IT Act at the Faizganj police station. On Wednesday night, he was arrested and sent to jail. (UNI)
