UPSC 2021 civil services preliminary exam postponed. Check new date

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission on Thursday postponed the 2021 civil services preliminary examination from June 27 to October 10, Sunday.
“Due to the prevailing conditions caused by the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), the Union Public Service Commission has deferred the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2021, which was scheduled to be held on 27th June, 2021. Now, this Examination will be held on 10th October, 2021,” the commission said.
Last year too, the preliminary examination was postponed to October 4 while the mains examination was conducted in January 2021.
The interview or personality test of last year’s aspirants is still pending and next year’s examination can only be conducted after completing the interviews and releasing the final list of successful candidates.
The UPSC conducts civil services examination annually for selecting candidates for Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Services, Indian Forest Services and various other elite services.
The preliminary examination is an objective type examination conducted on a single day pan India. Two papers--General Studies and CSAT--are taken in two slots of two hours each. (UNI)
