1984 riots: Delhi HC orders retrial in five cases

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today passed an order for retrial in five 1984 anti-Sikh riots cases in which all the accused were acquitted in 1986. The riots had broken out on November 1, 1984 after the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
 

Central Bureau of Investigation has challenged in the High Court the acquittal of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar and placed the trial court records during hearing of another 1984 riot case. (UNI)
