21-yr-old man held for posting objectionable photos of woman

New Delhi: A 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly creating a fake Facebook profile of a girl and uploaded her objectionable photographs and comments on it, police said on Wednesday.
The police said the man, identified as Nitesh Pandey, is a relative of the girl. The girl, in her complaint lodged with Cyber police station in Kamla Market, stated that some unknown person created a fake profile of her in Facebook and uploaded obscene photographs and made objectionable remarks for her and her elder sister.
On this basis, a case was registered on January 3, under section 66C/67 IT Act and a probe was initiated.
Shweta Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Delhi said during investigation, the details of URL of the above said fake profile were obtained from Facebook and on the basis of technical surveillance, the actual mastermind was identified as Nitesh Pandey, who lives in village Mohammad Pur, Gurugram, Haryana, then police arrested him.
DCP said the accused told the police that his sister got married with the brother of complainant on May 2, last year. After the marriage, his brother in-law started torturing his sister and after some time, he left her.
He wanted to teach a lesson to the family of his brother-in-law following which he created a fake Facebook profile in the complainant's name and uploaded the photographs of the complainant and her sister having objectionable remarks along with obscene photographs, the police added. (UNI)
