3 men assaulted in Bengaluru for chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans (VIDEO)

Bengaluru: A dispute over religious chants in Vidyaranyapura has led to the arrest of four individuals. The incident took place near Mahesh PU College in Chikkabettahalli between 15.30 and 15.45 hours here on Wednesday.
 
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the victims, identified as Pavan Kumar, Rahul, and Binayak, were driving towards MS Palya to inspect a second-hand two-wheeler. They had a saffron flag displayed on their Toyota Glanza car and were chanting "Jai Shri Ram."
 
Two of the accused individuals approached the victims on a bike. They questioned the victims about their chant.


 
"In an attempt to snatch the flag from one of the victims, a chase ensued as two of the victims pursued Farman into a nearby lane, while Sameer made his escape.
 
Shortly after, one of the accused individuals returned with a stick, accompanied by the other accused. Two more unidentified minors joined the scene, leading to an assault on the victims.

Pavan Kumar, Rahul, and Binayak sustained injuries during the altercation, with Rahul suffering a head injury and Binayak sustaining an injury to his nose bone.
 
Upon receiving the complaint from Pavan Kumar, the police arrived at the scene and promptly transported the victims to the police station. The injured victims were later taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
 
A case has been registered under sections 295A, 298, 143, 147, 504, 324, 326, and 506 r/w 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). All four accused individuals, including Farman, Sameer, and two minors, with a fourth minor yet to be verified, have been arrested. Investigation is on.
