According to the police, the deceased was identified as Venkataiah.
Venkataiah had distributed his four acres of agricultural land equally among his children--four sons and a daughter. However, there was an issue regarding taking care of the elderly man, as his children had agreed to take care of him for only one month each.
He was reportedly unhappy with this arrangement and approached a politician on May 2 to express his grievances. After spending the night at the politician's house, he left the following day, claiming that he was going to his second son's house.
But he had not arrived at his son's house, and his charred body was found near Yellamma Kunta, close to the Potlapalli village, last evening.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway, police added. (UNI)
