Aurangabad: Maharashtra Janajagaran Samiti on Monday warned the Maha Vikas Aghadi government to take an early decision on Muslim reservation else they will take to the streets from July 1.
In the same regard, a delegation led by Samiti chairman Mohsin Ahmed met the Divisional Commissioner and submitted a memorandum to him.
Addressed to CM Uddhav Thackeray and NCP chief Sharad Pawar, the memorandum stated that the Muslim community was entitled to 5 per cent quota in education and government jobs.
However, the previous BJP-SS alliance government did not grant the reservation, it underscored.
It further read that several central and state government-appointed commissions and committees have reported reservations for minorities 20 to 25 years ago.
Hence, the time has come to decide on the same, it added. (UNI)
