Andhra Pradesh: Woman gang-raped after confining her boyfriend

Vijayawada: In a shocking incident, a woman was gang-raped by unknown miscreants after confining her boyfriend in the river Krishna at Sitanagaram area at Tadepalli village near here in Guntur district.

Police said that the victim went to the river Krishna along with her boyfriend last evening to spend time. Unknown miscreants pounced upon them, tied the hands and legs of the man and gangraped the woman.

Though the incident took place last night, the mother of the victims lodged a complaint with the Tadepalli police today. The victim was admitted to the Government General hospital in Guntur for medical examination. The relatives of the victim told the media that after raping the woman, the miscreants robbed her gold jewellery. The victim was studying at a nursing college while the man was working at a petrol filling station.

Guntur district Urban Superintendent of police Arif Hafiz told the media that special teams were formed to apprehend the culprits.  A case was registered on the incident. (UNI)
