New Delhi: In yet another setback for Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) after the exodus of more than 6 legislators and a senior leader like Swami Prasad Maurya, another senior party leader and the second Brahmin face in the party after Satish Chandra Mishra, former Rajya Sabha MP Brajesh Pathak joined the BJP in New Delhi today. Mr Pathak leaving BSP created panic among the party leaders as most of them were unaware of his political move.
A senior leader told UNI that Mr Pathak was among the leader who was in-charge of BSP Chief Mayawati's rally in Agra yesterday. "How could a leader switch sides overnight," he said. However, the act of Mr Pathak has even surprised the politicians of the state and now it shows that the BJP is making a dent into the Brahmin vote bank of BSP. Mr Pathak was the official BSP MLA candidate from Mallawa seat in Hardoi district. He had represented BSP in the Lok Sabha between 2004-09 from Unnao seat and later he was elected to the Rajya Sabha till 2014. (UNI)
