Ashwin dethrones Steyn to become No. 1 Test bowler

Dubai:Star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin today reclaimed the number one spot in Test rankings for bowlers after a career best figures of 13/140 in the third and final Test against New Zealand.
The 30-year-old spinner now holds the numero uno spot in the ICC ranking for test bowlers with a career-best rating of 900 points. He is now followed by South African pacer Dale Steyn, who stand with 878 points.Ashwin, who also holds the top spot in the rankings for all-rounders, had scalped 27 wickets in the series which India won 3-0.
On the other side, middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane has also reached a career-best sixth rank after the just concluded Indore test.While Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli also improved their rankings in the list of batsmen.
Pujara moved up to one place to be at 14th and after a double ton at Indore helped skipper to move up four places to be at the 16th spot.Ravindra Jadeja has reached a career-best third rank in the ICC all-rounders ranking with 292 points, which he jointly shares with England cricketer Moen Ali.
