New Delhi: The Supreme Court today adjourned the hearing in the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case till tomorrow. A bench, headed by Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, deferred the matter till tomorrow due to the absence of his colleague Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman. The apex court would examine whether to revive the conspiracy charges against senior BJP leaders Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi Uma Bharti and others in the case.
In the last hearing, the Court had hinted that prima facie it did not “think they can be discharged mere on technical grounds. In case, if the apex court orders for a joint trial, it would significantly mean that Advani and other senior BJP leaders would be tried also for participating in a criminal conspiracy that led to the demolition of the Babri mosque and not just for instigating the crowd though provocative speeches.
