Bhopal: In the second instance of its kind, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Madhya Pradesh unit today expelled the media in-charge of its Scheduled Castes Morcha after the lid was blown off the fact that he was a member of a sex racket, BJP sources said. The action was taken against N Shakya whose appointment was announced just four days back.

Earlier, the saffron party’s Information Technology Cell office-bearer Dhruv Saxena was sacked after being placed under arrest for involvement in assisting Inter-Services Intelligence agents through the medium of a parallel phone exchange.

Cyber Crime Cell personnel apprehended nine members of a gang – at a flat in the posh Arera Colony here – on the charge of luring girls from Maharashtra and Meghalaya into the flesh trade on the pretext of employment at hotel receptions, call centres and beauty parlours, police said.

Bookings were done through the medium of an obscene website. The victims were rescued during last night’s raid. The accused include D Mewada, S Gehlot, R Prajapati, M Gupta, H Dhanwani, KK Jayaswal, S Belani and Miswauddin. V Dwivedi – who hails from Satna and is absconding – served as manager of numerous local hotels and used to search websites for girls who submitted their curriculum vitae. (UNI)
