BSF helps Chhattisgarh resident reunite with his family after a gap of several years

Jalandhar: BSF sleuths helped a 50-year-old Chhattisgarh resident unite with his family after he was apprehended by the troops on June 1, 2021 from the area of responsibility of 124 Bn of the BSF in Abohar sector.

A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier HQ of the BSF here said on Friday that the alert troops of the BSF had apprehended an Indian national wandering near the border security fence in the area under the jurisdiction of 124 Bn of the BSF.

Nothing objectionable was found from his possession. During questioning and verification of antecedents of the person in question, it was noticed that the person apprehended was missing from his family for the last many years.

The BSF authorities after coordinating with the Punjab police managed to hand over the person identified as Dunger Singh, a resident of Dhursi, tehsil Pandariya, District Kabirdham, Chhattisgarh to his family today. (UNI)
