Congress leader, who showed black flag to PM Modi, shot at in Sultanpur

Sultanpur: Congress leader Rita Yadav, who showed the black flag to the Prime Minister during inauguration of Poorvanchal expressway, was shot at by unknown miscreants here on Monday.
Police here said the leader was rushed to the district hospital and her condition is stable.
Ms Rita Yadav told reporters in the hospital that she was stopped by three persons in an SUV when she was going in her car in Lambhua area on the expressway Monday afternoon.
She said the criminals threatened and abused her. They also put a pistol on her driver's forehead. When she slapped one of the criminal, they shot at her and fled.
Police said they were investigating the incident and a manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
On November 16 last, when PM Narendra Modi was inaugurating the Purvanchal Expressway and was holding a public meeting at Arwal Keeri in the district, Rita Yadav showed him the black flag. Police arrested her and sent to jail. After two days she got bail and was out of jail.
On December 17, she joined Congress in Lucknow after leaving Samajwadi Party. (UNI)
