Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawan committed suicide by shooting self with his service rifle in Central Kashmir, district of Budgam. CRPF Spokesperson told UNI that the Jawan, Anil Kumar, shot himself with his service rifle in a CRPF camp at Budgam at 0400 hrs today, moments before he was scheduled to go out on a patrol.
He said the deceased Jawan was a member of 35 battalions of CRPF. It was not immediately clear why he took this extreme step, he said, adding police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstance in which Kumar committed suicide. After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the Jawan was sent to his native village in Madhya Pradesh (MP) for last rites. (UNI)
