Cyclist stabbed to death in dispute over non-payment of Rs 2 air filling charges

Kakinada: A petty dispute over non-payment of Rs 2 towards charges for filling up of air in to deflated cycle tyre, has lead to the murder of cyclist in Valasapakala, a city suburb on Saturday night, police sources said.
The trouble started when the cyclist R Surya Suvarnaraju (25) tried to move away saying no change of Rs 2 with him towards air charges, the shop owner Sai did not oblige and insisted payment.
In the process there was scuffle and fist fight between them. Ponnam Apparao worker in the cycle shop came to the rescue of his owner and attacked cyclist with a sharp edged iron rod inflicting stab wounds.
Suvarnaraju was rushed to government general hospital in a precarious condition where he succumbed to stab wounds shortly after.
The Thimmapuram police have registered the case and search is on for the accused Apparao who is at large, the sources added. (UNI)
