Kolkata: Welcoming all the delegates for participation, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee mentions Kolkata as the cultural capital of World.
Ms Banerjee reminds of Uttam Kumar, Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Suchitra Sen and Supriya Devi from the Nabanna Sabhaghar. “If the Bengali industry has been provided proper backups and infrastructures then they may beat Bollywood and Hollywood in terms of talent. Bengal is still the cultural capital of India, I think”, she added.
Anubhav Sinha, who attended the inaugural ceremony will also deliver the Satyajit Ray Memorial Lecture on Jan 9. Mamata greeted Sinha as he attended the KIFF in this pandemic situation.
SRK, who attended every edition of KIFF from 2011, failed to attend this KIFF physically but attended virtually. Banerjee requested SRK to come during Raksha Bandhan and he agreed virtually. (UNI)
