Drug racket: 12 held, 2000 bottles of Corex seized in Puri

Puri: In a special drive against drug rackets the Puri police on Tuesday arrested 12 persons and recovered over two thousand bottles of Corey during raids at various drug dens.

According to the district police report, while 1055 Corex bottles were seized and five arrested under the Baselisahi police station, the Kumbharpara police arrested three and recovered 821 bottles of Corex.

The Sea beach police arrested two and recovered 313 bottles of Corex.

Two more persons were nabbed for assisting them in drug peddling in the city.

The Police also seized a bike used in the drug trade. The total value of Corex bottles was over two lakh rupees the report said.

All the arrested were forwarded to the court of SDJM and the magistrate remanded them to jail custody.

Last week the police arrested 15 persons and recovered brown sugar, seized two bikes and cash during the drive. (UNI)
