Firing inside Chitrakoot jail: 3 criminals including gangster Mukeem Kala killed

Chitrakoot: Major firing took place inside the district jail here on Friday when a criminal shot dead two notorious criminals of western Uttar Pradesh and then the police shot dead the assailant.

Police here said that the incident occurred inside the high-security barrack in the jail at around 1030 hours.

First Ansul Dixit shot dead two dreaded criminals of west UP Mohammad Mukeem alias Kala and Mirazuddin.

Ansul fired several rounds from a country-made pistol smuggled inside the jail.

Later in the encounter police shot dead Anshul.

Senior police and jail department officials have reached the spot and were investigating the matter.

Kala was a dreaded criminal of west UP and had a network of a criminal empire in the region of Shamli, Muzzafarnagar and west UP.

In February this year, Kala’s mother had moved a petition in Allahabad high court fearing the murder of her son inside the jail.

After the incident, security in the nearby Banda jail has been tightened where mafia don Mukhtar Ansari is being kept.

Mukhtar’s family had already raised the issue of threat on his life inside UP jail in the Supreme court.

This is the second such incident in the state when on July 9, 2018, sharpshooter Munna Bajrangi was shot dead in a similar manner inside the Bagpat jail. (UNI)
