Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today tendered her resignation saying that she wanted the younger leaders in the party to take charge of the post. In a televised message to the people of the state, Ms Patel said that she was turning 75 in November, and so wanted that people, younger than her should be at the helm of affairs before the Assembly polls and Vibrant Gujarat Summit. She thanked Prime Minister Narenda Modi for choosing her for the job. Though she could not match his performance but she had tried her best to fulfill the responsibilities given to her for the development, Ms Patel said.
