Honour killing: 25-yr-old software engineer killed, body set on fire in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 25-year-old software engineer was murdered and the body was set on fire in the forest area of Jinnaram in Sangareddy district.
Police said the deceased was identified as Narayana Reddy. The incident occurred on June 29 and came to light on Sunday when police found the body in the forest area.
The victim was residing in KPHB colony. Reddy had a love marriage in 2021, but the parents of the girl did not approve of the marriage and forcefully brought back their daughter.
After noticing that the couple were contacting each other on mobile, the girl's parents reportedly decided to eliminate Narayana Reddy.
Narayana Reddy was invited to Khziaguda for drinks through one Srinivas Reddy who was known to him on June 29.
In a drunken state, Narayana Reddy was strangled to death and his body was set on fire by pouring petrol at the Jinnaram forest area on the same night.
Police had registered a missing case on June 30 have taken Srinivas Reddy into custody based on call data. On interrogation, Srinivas Reddy revealed the entire story.
The body was sent to Gandhi Hospital for post mortem.
Further investigation is underway, police added. (UNI)
