HP: Student slaps teacher for objecting to mobile phone in the classroom

Hamirpur (HP): A student of plus two of a senior secondary school of the district slapped his teacher when the teacher objected to the boy keeping a mobile phone in the class room, it was reported on Friday.
The incident happened on Thursday.
Reports reaching here said that the student became angry when the teacher objected over him bringing his phone in the class and demanded that he give it to him as mobile phones are not allowed inside the educational institutions.
As soon as the school management came to know about this, there was a stir in the school. However, the matter was later resolved with the intervention of the local school management committee.
However, by that time the matter had been circulated among the people through social media and had created a stir all around.
In the meantime, the police was also informed and a team of the police also reached the school but keeping in view of the life of the student and reputation of the school, the matter was solved amicably by seeking an apology from the student.
Dilbarjeet Singh, the Deputy Director of Education said that no such complaint had been received by him so far. However, if such a complaint came, the matter would be discussed in detail.
He said that the matter was of serious nature and instructions would be once again issued for strictly banning mobile phones inside educational institutions. (UNI)
