Lucknow: It will be a 'triple Talaq' for BJP during the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, stated by Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechuri here today. Mr Yechury further claimed that the BJP, which was trying to end Triple Talaq among Muslim community, itself will have to face it in UP polls. "The first Talaq was when they got drubbing in Delhi polls, while the second Talaq was in Bihar polls. UP polls will be the third and the last which will doom the fate of BJP," he told mediapersons here.
Claiming that the Left Front parties are contesting the polls unitedly in Punjab, Uttarakhand and UP, he said," our main motto is to prevent the communal forces of BJP and it's alliances coming to power. "Our only move is to strengthen the Left Front and will try to win some seats, so that in the assemblies we can fight for the people like we did during UPA-1 regime, when policies like the RTE, MGNREGA, RTI and even right to food was formulated," Mr Yechuri claimed. He said in Punjab CPI (M) was contesting in 12 seats in alliance with four other left parties, while in Uttarakhand too they are contesting in sizable number of seats.
In UP Left Front comprising of six parties is contesting around 140 seats in which 105 seats have been announced. CPI(M) is contesting 45 seats in UP. Mr Yechuri also said that he will also campaign in the UP polls in favour of the party candidates. He said that left front will support the secular party candidates in those seats where they will not have any candidate with a rider that they are the front runners in defeating the BJP led alliance.
