Karnataka: After monkeys death, carcasses of three peacocks found in Hassan

Hassan: After the killing incidents of monkeys in the district the forest department has now turned its attention towards the death of peacocks and taken up investigations into the matter, it was announced here on Tuesday.
Officials said that there were incidents of death of three peacocks at Chikka Gandasi village in Arsikere taluk. It is suspected that the birds died three-four days before the incident came to light. “The carcasses were already in a decomposed state.
Three peacocks have died near a ditch near Nanjegowda’s farm. The locals have informed the Forest Department about the matter. Forest Department officials who visited the site have inspected the site. Three male peacocks have died suspiciously, and the fear of poisoning and killing peacocks has emerged. Hassan district has the highest number of bird peacocks.
Aruhalli police have arrested five accused in the monkeys death case and are continuing their investigation. (UNI)
