Karnataka: Man in interfaith relationship killed in poll-bound Sindagi taluk, two arrested

Vijayapura: A man in 30s was allegedly killed after it was discovered that he was in love with a girl from a different faith belonging to Muslim community.
The police have arrested two prime accused in the case.
The deceased has been identified as Ravi Nimbargi. His dead body was found abandoned in a well in the poll-bound Sindagi taluk.
After the body was fished out, the Vijayapura police registered a case under section 302 of the IPC.
Police said Nimbargi who hails from Balaganur village in Sindagi taluk was in a relationship with a girl from Muslim community.
After it was discovered by the family members of the girl, Nimbargi was threatened by them.
Shashidhar, younger brother of Nimbargi, said his brother and the girl had an affair for the last two to three years.
Nimargi was attacked while he was on his way to buy groceries, he added. "When he did not return home past 8 pm. I went in search of him. I found his bag, footwear near the agri fields. I returned home and informed the family and we lodged a missing complaint the next day," Shashidhar said.
"The girl had called us to inform us that she suspected her family to harm Nimbargi. We would not have known about my brother, if she would not have told this to us," he said.
The police said, on October 22, Nimbargi's family had filed a missing complaint.
Next day, the police received a phone call from the girl saying that Nimbargi would be harmed by her family and immediately formed three teams to hunt down her family members.
The police succeeded in apprehending the prime accused, the girl's maternal uncle and younger brother, in the case, after they confessed to having committed the crime.
The accused had kidnapped Nimbargi on 21 October, killed him and threw his body into the well, the police said. (UNI)
