Kohli named as 'Leading Cricketer in the World' by Wisden

New Delhi: Team India skipper Virat Kohli has been named as the Leading Cricketer in the World for 2016 by the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.Before Kohli, former opener Virender Sehwag and legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar had won the prestigious award.The Indian run-machine is on a high after being appointed as the Test skipper and led his side to victory against New Zealand, Bangladesh, England and Australia.

In the last one year, Kohli smashed 1215 runs at an average of 75.93 in Tests, 739 runs averaging 92.37 in ODIs while 641 runs in T20I at an average of 106.83.He also led his team to No.1 Test side in the world.On the other hand, the women's award went to Ellyse Perry of Australia. (UNI)
