Maharashtra: Young woman, on way to home to be with his ailing brother, gangraped by 6 persons in Thane, 2 arrested

Mumbai: Police have arrested two of six people who allegedly gangraped a 22-year-old woman in neighbouring Thane city, police said on Saturday.

According to police, the incident occurred early on Thursday when the woman, who was sleeping at her aunt’s place, got a call from her younger brother who asked her to come to their house as he was unwell.

While victim was on the way, the accused persons gangraped her.

Later, the woman lodged a complaint and based on close circuit TV camera footage, a case was registered.

Further investigation is on, sources added.
