Thane : The city police have launched a manhunt for a 25 year old boy from Samrat Nagar of Mumbra, who allegedly stabbed a 19 year old girl, his own relative who refused to marry him, the police said on Monday.
Senior Police Inspector Kishore Pasalkar in the Mumbra said that the victim with as many as 8 stab wounds on her body was presently being treated at the civic Kalwa Hospital and was out of danger.
The Mumbra police has registered a case under section 307 of the IPC the police officer said.
According to the complaint by the victim on Sunday night, the accused, Karan Hule, was her maternal uncles son. He used to come to her house since the last five six years and was in love with the victim.
"He made advances to the victim and proposed to marry her to which she refused and said that she did not not like him as he was a drunkered," the victim said in the complaint."It was last evening at about 6.00 p.m,. when the victim was sitting near the public toilet in the township the accused arrived there and once again repeated his proposal to which the victim flatly refused. Upon this the accused got irritated and wiped out a knife and stabbed her several times and fled the scene, said the police.
