Militants attack PDP minister's home, two police guards injured

Srinagar: Two police personnel were injured when militants attacked the house of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Minister in the coalition government in south Kashmir district late last night, official sources said here.
A group of militants, carrying automatic weapons, attacked the house of Minister of state for Hajj and Auqaf and MLA at Dooru in Anantnag. Police personnel, guarding the house, also retaliated and in the exchange of fire, two police personnel were injured, who have been hospitalised.
The militants later entered the house and took away weapons of police personnel, they said. However, the militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness before security forces could reach there. The Minister was not present in the house, they said.
Later, the forces conducted search operation in the area, but the militants had escaped. The attack came hours after two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants were killed in an encounter in Pulwama district. (UNI)
