Modi asks BJP-ruled states to gear up for next year's polls

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today discussed poll strategy with BJP core groups from various states in view of the 2017 Assembly elections and asked the group members to make special efforts to create awareness about the government’s schemes for the downtrodden.

Mr Modi was addressing the concluding session of the daylong workshop of BJP state core groups organised here to take stock of the political situation and organisational matters.The Prime Minister expressed the government’s commitment for the downtrodden and said the birth anniversary of Jan Sangh leader Pt Deendayal Upadhyay, which was falling on September 25 should be used as an occasion to spread the idea of ‘untodya’ (reaching out unto the last).
