Dharamsala: After Team India skipper Virat Kohli hinted of including a fit Mohammed Shami in the Test squad for the fourth Test against Australia, starting on Saturday, the medium pacer arrived here this morning ahead of the crucial Test.
After the Ranchi test ended in a draw, Kohli while interacting with the mediapersons had said,"We sent him to play, wanted to give him match practice.I have not spoken to selectors but all kinds of possibilities are there approaching the next Test.
" Despite Shami's arrival in the city, no official announcement has been made on whether the pacer has been included in the team.Notably, during the third Test against England in November last year, Shami suffered a knee injury and was rested for the ODI series against the visiting side.
However, Shami proved his fitness in the just concluded Vijay Hajare Trophy, where he picked four wickets in the final for Bengal. The 27-year-old has featured in 22 Tests with an average of 32.60 and has bagged 76 wickets.Against the aussies, Shami has played three Tests clinching 15 wickets.(UNI)
