Bhopal: The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government of Madhya Pradesh is likely to file an FIR against senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha Member Digvijay Singh for posting a fake tweet in connection with the Khargone violence.
Rajya Sabha Member Digvijaya Singh became the subject of discussion on Tuesday in the wake of posting a controversial photograph accompanied by remarks in social media, which he subsequently deleted after sharp reactions from Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and others.
“Is it proper to foist a banner at a place of worship while wielding a sword and a lathi? Did the Khargone administration permit a procession bearing weapons? Will the dwellings of all those who hurled stones be bulldozed irrespective of their faith? Shivraj sir, do not forget that you took an oath regarding running a dispensation impartially. I am basically against action without notice and prior hearing. Does any law or rule in the country enshrine a provision concerning bulldozer culture? If you have to use a bulldozer illegally then do not be partial on the basis of religion,” erstwhile chief minister Singh wrote.
The accompanying picture depicted some saffron-clad youth. The matter drew a lightning-fast response from Mr Chouhan who alleged that (Congress leader) Mr Singh is conspiring to fan religious frenzy in the state and plunge it into a conflagration of riots – something which shall not be tolerated.

“Mr Singh has shared a photograph – accompanied by remarks – vis-à-vis a youngster hoisting a saffron flag at a place of worship. This incident did not occur in Madhya Pradesh,” the Chief Minister wrote. (UNI)
