Muzaffarnagar: 17 school girls drugged, molested on pretext of practical exam, school owner held

Muzaffarnagar: A school owner in Muzaffarnagar was arrested for allegedly molesting around 17 minor girl students, police said on Tuesday.
According to the police, another accused is on the run. The police have lodged an FIR against several people in connection with the case.
SSP Abhishek Yadav said that an investigation is still underway. The SHO of Purkazi police station has been suspended. Five teams of the police, crime branch and SOG, are probing the case, he said.
The alleged incident happened on November 18 last month when the girls were called in their schools to stay at night on the pretext of practical. At night, the girls were given food laced with sedatives and were alleged molested.
SSP said FIR has been registered under section 328 354,506 of the IPC and other sections of the POCSO Act.
He said the owner of the school has been arrested while another accused is at large. Prima facie it seemed that 2 people were involved in the case.
Earlier, the local police refused to take congizance of the incident reported by the girls but after local MLA Pramod Utwal intervened, senior police officials ordered a high-level probe.
The girls have registered their statements before the police. (UNI)
