New Delhi: The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) today postponed the third One-Day International (ODI) between India and New Zealand from October 19 to October 20, in view of 'Karva Chauth'.

Confirming the report, DDCA vice-president CK Khanna said to UNI, "Beacuse of Karva Chauth, I, on behalf of DDCA, requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to shift the match by a day.” "The BCCI has also agreed to my request and now the match will be held here on Oct 20, rather than October 19," he claimed.

The national cricketing body is now awaiting confirmation from the New Zealand Cricket (NZC), the BCCI vice president said, adding that DDCA has also written to board secretary Ajay Shirke informing about the obstacles in hosting a match on a popular festival day.The DDCA expects ticket sales to be low on a festive day.

Notably, the Kiwis will take on host India in a three Test and five ODI series, starting on September 22.The test series will be played at Kanpur, Kolkata and Indore while the limited over's series is scheduled to be held at Dharamsala, Delhi, Mohali, Ranchi and Nagpur.
