Odisha: BJP leader beaten to death, 3 suspects held

Bhubaneswar: A BJP leader was beaten to death by some people at Nuasahi under the Kaptipada Police station of Mayurbhanj district.
Police identified the deceased as Ranjit Pradhan, in charge of the Balasore district BYJM, the youth wing of the BJP.
Police have detained three persons in connection with the incident and are inquiring into the incident. Another person involved in the crime is on the run.
Police sources said efforts are on to nab him at the earliest.
Sources said the BJP leader was on his way to his father-in-law's house at Nuasahi in a car when the incident occurred just a few metres away from his in-laws' house last night.
The accused coming on motorcycles from the opposite side had a heated argument with Ranjit over some pretty matter. They then dragged him from the car and assaulted him.
The BJP leader was taken to Udala Sub-divisional hospital but the doctors declared him dead.
BJP leaders from Balasore reached the hospital today and demanded videography of the autopsy and action against the guilty. (UNI)
