Odisha: Health Supervisor dies after receiving second dose of COVID vaccine

Puri: In a tragic incident a health supervisor with the Puri municipality apparently died after receiving the second dose of COVID vaccine, here on Sunday.
Ranjit Kumar Rout, 56 who was working as health supervisor in Puri municipality run urban Achia hospital is a corona warrior.
He had taken the first dose of the vaccine and was administered a second dose on the Saturday at Kamala Devi Matrumangal hospital here on Sunday afternoon.
On Friday night he complained of chest pain. His family members rushed him to the district head quarter hospital but the duty doctor declared him brought dead.
His son Rajib Lochan Rout told media persons that his father was in good health before taking the second dose of the vaccine.
Additional medical officer Devi Prasad Mahapatra said “we have sent the body along with the symptom history to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack for a thorough study and diagnosis.”
Rout’s son has requested that the authorities thoroughly investigate the reasons behind his father’s death. (UNI)
